Strategic consolidation to streamline your maintenance
“One of my proudest moments was working with a large contracting/construction company in Florida to consolidate lubricants and greases. This helped our customer better manage inventory and reduce misapplication of products.”

Attention to detail
“During a first site visit, I noted that a prospective customer was using a grease that did not meet the OEM specifications and asked if they were having issues. They said they were having failures every year on various pieces of equipment. By the next site visit, they had switched to a new grease that met the OEM specifications, reducing unplanned downtime and maximizing fleet uptime.”

Customized maintenance solutions for your fleet
“After hearing from a customer how frustrated he was with all the different lubricants he had to keep track of, one of my favorite moments was being able to consolidate his products from 20 down to just 8. Watching him walk into the garage and post the new lube chart front and center was a huge win!”

Two questions for a not-so typical job
“There’s no 'typical' day for me. But I always ask new customers two questions: What do they value most from their lubricant supplier? And, what are the business concerns or risks that bother them the most?”

One of my proudest moments in the field was when our team collaborated with one of our distributor collaborators to support a customer performing road and bridge work in a large metropolitan area. Machine availability and uptime were crucial to keeping the project on track. At the end of the day, drivers were happy and traffic patterns much improved.

Are you prepared to beat the heat?

According to the Arrhenius Rate Rule, once lubricants exceed their base activation temperature, they degrade twice as fast for every 18°F increase in temperature.

Pro tip: For optimal protection, choose lubricants designed to protect your equipment through high heat and vast temperature swings. Our experts tend to recommend semi-synthetic oils, which are a blend of conventional, mineral-based products and synthetic oils that are more chemically stable.

Why do synthetic oils work better in the cold?

In cold weather, you want to use lubricants with the right viscosity.

The pour point of a liquid is the temperature below which the liquid loses its ability to flow. Synthetic oils have lower pour points, so they flow quickly and prevent metal-to-metal contact even in freezing temperatures.

Pro tip: Store lubricants at least 10 degrees above their pour points to keep them from freezing.
